GRAND RAPIDS UNION: 42
The Lady Rockets got out to a quick 15-6 lead at the end of the first quarter against the Lady RedHawks of GR Union but the RedHawks scored 18 points in the second quarter to pull within four at the half (28-24). Despite good outside shooting on the part of Union, the Rockets were able to pull away with stingier defense play and quality passing on the offensive end that led to baskets in the post. Emily Caltagirone and Lauren Ross found their teammates on the block on fast breaks and through penetrating attacks of the paint. Ross finished with 24 points and Bridget McHugh had 15 for the Rockets. Bella Borgeson led the Rockets with 7 boards.Tionna Beckom led the RedHawks with 14 points and Jae'ona Clark added 13 points and 11 boards.
The Rockets upped their record to (4-2, 1-0) and the RedHawks have a (4-1, 0-1) overall record.
